The first musical performance to take place on the property that was to become Arnold High School was presented by students from Surfside Middle School.
The groundbreaking ceremony included The National Anthem which was played by some of the same students who would make up the first freshman class.
The summer before the school opened, the first Arnold Band, then dubbed “Marlin Pride Band”, met and rehearsed at Surfside Middle school.
In the summer of 2002 Gary Nichols became the band director. Since the band’s modest start it has grown dramatically in numbers and ability.
Our music students take their work very seriously and are proud of their achievements, receiving Superior ratings at both Concert and Marching Music Performance Assessments.
