VOLUNTEERS!
YOU MAKE IT HAPPEN!
Thank you in advance for your support. The fact that you are even reading this shows you are interested in helping us help your musician succeed. Since you have a high school student, I will not give a lengthy explanation about why you should volunteer.
There are two sections here. The long-term opportunities are things that take just a few minutes each week but are vital to the smooth operation of Band Booster administration and events all year long.
The second section is short-term opportunities. These opportunities involve anywhere from an hour or two a week to 5 or 6 hours per week but are wrapped up in a month or two. They are typically in support of large events that take place over several hours.
Take a look below to see if something catches your eye and let me, Charlie Cutshaw, know through the email below. Thanks again for your support.

Long – term opportunities:
- Phone tree
- Marching Uniform Coordinator
- General running around
- Making copies
- Stuffing and stamping envelopes
- Typing documents on a computer
- Roadie (Sets up equipment for performances) Some heavy lifting and general fixing of whatever. Loads and unloads The Truck. Usually a guy thing but anyone is welcome.
- Webmaster (Currently filled)
- The Truck-master (Currently filled)
- Assisting with corporate fundraising (Looking up mailing addresses, personalizing letters and getting them mailed)
- Car washes – We do several of these a year. We need adults to remind the kids to keep the hoses on the cars and not each other. Oh yeah, and put on more sunscreen. Nothing ever changes does it? Come on down and visit for a bit. The adults usually just sit and talk. Some of our more adventurous dads help with the washing but it’s not required.
Short – term opportunities:
- Rummage Sale: This is an all day event. We collect items from lots of people and places, store them through the year and then sell everything in the school cafeteria. Blue Thunder is so good that all of the stuff mystically appears in the cafeteria on the Saturday of the sale. Not really……..
Blue Thunder is that good but we still have to move all of that stuff with The Truck. A
large group of us show up early Saturday morning and begin moving. Any retired
military out there? Feeling the “move itch” but can’t bear to leave PCB? Come on down
and scratch the “itch” and help us in the process. Others begin organizing all of the stuff
by category. Anyone with merchandise display skills, jump right in.
